Consensus Cooking Club

Ages: 9+
Time: 11:30 – 12:35
Room: Lunch Room
Max. Students: 9
Materials Fee: $15

This is a cooperative, student run cooking club! Participants in this class will work together with their peers to decide what to make, how to source ingredients, who is going to teach what, etc. The class supplies fee will become a shared pool of money that will be spent based on group decision making. Participants will also explore topics of food justice, food sovereignty, food labeling, etc. and maybe make some food to share with all of NLLC and/or something they can sell. Club members will need to be responsible about cleaning up, dealing with food waste, etc.

The ideal Cooking Club member enjoys cooking and is open to discussion and decision-making as part of a group. Members should be responsible about following through on getting ingredients, bringing equipment if needed, cleaning up, etc. Entrepreneurial experience and/or interest is also welcome! You don’t have to be a seasoned chef (pun intended) to join 🙂

Parents and (quietly self engaged) siblings are welcome to stay in the room but are not required to stay.
