No more hands inside the coat, Napoleon!

This class will be an 8 week intensive study of the hand. We will work from the inside out of how the human hand works, and thus how to render the Thing doing all the amazing Things that a hand can do.

Each student will have a disarticulate model hand to work with in class, which will become their own by the end of the 8 weeks. We will take a look at the bones, maybe even learn a few names if we must. Attach some muscles and tendons, in all natural plasticine, while learning how to maintain a good working relationship with one’s own hands. We shall be drawing and or sculpting through each week.

This class is geared towards student who have an affinity towards the arts or science/anatomy, who can work independently, listen, follow instructions, and clean up after themselves. Parents and (quietly self engaged) siblings are welcome to stay in the room but are not required to stay.
